Does my friend also need the application on his phone to receive my pictures?
No, your friend does not need XShare on his phone to receive your pictures, videos or ringtones. All he needs a phone which is MMS or GPRS enabled. (To enable GPRS or MMS, call your operator on the customer service hotline- they will do it for you.)
How does my friend see what I have sent him/her?
Your friend will receive an SMS with the link- such as http://myxshare.net/g/622. He/she needs to select the link OR go to 'Options' → 'find' → 'Web address' → 'Go to Web Address'. He will see a thumbnail of the picture and can click on it to see the full picture or video.
Can I send it to more than one person? How?
Of course! When sending to more than one friend, you can just select them from your phone book and click 'Ok' - just like sending an SMS to multiple recipients.
How do I know that my picture/video has been uploaded?
The picture or video will be uploading in the background, so you can continue using your phone to browse, click more pictures or SMS. You will see a 'file sent' notification on your screen once the picture/video has been uploaded or sent to your friend.
What happens if I get a call while I am sharing pictures/videos from my phone?
The voice call is always given priority and the file transfer gets suspended. After you finish the call, the connection is re-established and the file transfer starts resuming from the point from where it was suspended thus resulting in no additional GPRS charge.
What if I am using my phone on roaming? Can I still upload using XShare?
Yes you can, our service works in any country. However, you will get a prompt that tells you that you will be incurring GPRS roaming charges, when you use the service outside your country.
Where are my photos/videos going?
Your pictures and videos will go to the online website that you have selected when you signed
up for XShare. They are automatically uploaded the moment you choose to send to an online album. If you do not have an
account with any site you can always leave the pictures on myxshare.com
I have accounts on multiple photo sharing sites. Can I upload to all these sites at the same time? How do I do this?
Yes absolutely! XShare lets you upload to as many sites as you want in a single click. The best part of it is that you will incur GPRS charge for uploading the picture only ONCE!. And that picture will be uploaded to all the photo sharing sites which you have specified when you signed up for your XShare account saving you the cost of uploading to each site separately (which is the case if you upload by MMS). For this, you can select the sites where you want to keep your pictures when you sign up for XShare. You can also come back later and add or remove sites on your XShare account. When you click pictures or videos and choose the send to 'Online Album' option, it will automatically appear on all the sites that you have chosen.
Can I change the settings for XShare?
Yes, just go to your menu, find XShare and modify the settings. You can change the prompts for sharing or the prompt for adding tags. You can set your preference for sharing as-private or public.
How do I disable the prompt after every picture?
To disable the prompt, you need to go to the application 'XShare' which can be found on your phone menu. Go to the Settings and you can 'Deactivate'- 'prompt after image capture'.
How do I make pictures/videos private?
Go to the menu on your phone and find XShare. When you click on XShare you should see a tab for settings. There will be list of things you can change here; you will find the option of changing settings to 'public' or 'private'.
Tags can be added at the moment of sharing, when you choose to share the pictures.
How do I share or upload pictures or videos at a later time?
You can go to the menu and select 'XShare'. From here, you can choose any picture, video or audio file stored on your phone, select where you want to upload or send to a friend- that's it!
